Pierre Duhaime is President and Chief Executive Officer of SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. He also sits on the Board of Directors. He has over 30 years of engineering, construction and project management experience, primarily in the fields of industrial process plants and non-ferrous metals. Born in Quebec in 1954, Mr. Duhaime holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgy from the École Polytechnique, an affiliate of the Université de Montréal, Quebec, Canada and an M.B.A. from HEC Montréal.

Mr. Duhaime began his career as a metallurgist at Noranda in 1975. Through the 1980s, he advanced to the level of Project Manager at Canadian Electrolytic Zinc and the American Iron and Metal Company. Mr. Duhaime joined SNC-Lavalin in 1989 as a Project Manager in the Industrial Division. He was promoted to Director of Technology for the Division in 1991 and appointed its Vice-President of Projects and Technology in 1997. Mr. Duhaime assumed increasingly senior positions in the Industrial Division, as well as responsibility for the Company’s Mining & Metallurgy and Aluminum divisions. In 2003, Mr. Duhaime was appointed Executive Vice-President responsible for SNC-Lavalin’s Mining and Metallurgy activities worldwide. At the same time, he was appointed to the Office of the President, the senior decision-making management group composed of the CEO and the executive vice-presidents.

Mr. Duhaime has overseen the progress of some of SNC-Lavalin’s most prestigious mining projects. Among these were the Diavik Diamond Mine project in Canada’s High Arctic, the Skorpion zinc project in the Namibian desert, the Voisey’s Bay nickel project in Newfoundland and Labrador, and the Goro nickel project in New Caledonia. Mr. Duhaime has also played a key role in positioning SNC-Lavalin as a world leader in the Mining & Metallurgy sector.

Mr. Duhaime is a member of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum Engineers, the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec. He is a recipient of the CIM Ainey Award.
