From a blacksmith shop founded in 1956 by Giacomo (Jacques) Paschini, father of the current principal shareholders and officers of the Corporation, ADF GROUP INC. has over the years become a North American leader in the design, engineering, fabrication and installation* of highly complex and large-scale steel structures, heavy steel built-up components, miscellaneous and architectural metalwork and fast-track projects for the three principal segments of the non-residential construction market:
(Installation services offered exclusively in Florida, since 2006)
- Commercial and institutional buildings: Office towers, hotels, convention centres, government buildings, recreational and sports complexes, museums.
- Industrial complexes: Power stations, petrochemical complexes, automotive assembly lines, various manufacturing facilities.
- Public infrastructures: Airport facilities, aerospace complexes, bridges and overpasses.
A pioneer in the development and implementation of innovative solutions, ADF Group is recognized in the industry for its engineering expertise, proactive project management, as well as for its capacity and skills in the fabrication of complex steel superstructures. Its commitment to deliver every project in accordance with the industry’s highest quality standards constitutes an important part of the Corporation’s mission.
Headquartered in Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada, with a sales office in Florida, U.S.A., the Corporation operates a modern 58,500-square-metre (630,000-square-foot) fabrication plant equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and utilizes the most advanced technologies in its industry.
ADF Group Inc. has forged a solid reputation for its engineering expertise and capacity to carry out the fabrication of complex steel superstructures and heavy steel components, as well as projects subject to fast-track schedules. Its 52-year experience in the steel industry provides a thorough understanding of the clients’ needs and requirements.
Benefiting from a skilled workforce of 295 employees, ADF Group stands apart from its competitors through its value-added products, commitment towards top-quality work, important fabrication capacity and rapid contract execution. These advantages have earned ADF to be selected as a participant in large-scale, world-class and ambitious projects in North America and abroad, from 45 plus-storey high-rises to multi-million square-foot commercial properties, from national leagues sport stadiums to buildings with complex geometry, from large airplanes hangar to major airport terminals and sizeable canopies, and projects requiring up to 50,000 tons of steel.
Complex steel built-ups
The Corporation’s current backlog of orders includes major landmark projects such as the New World Symphony building in Florida; the EnCana office tower in Alberta; the Freedom Tower and the antenna that will top this 108-storey high-rise in New York, Holcim’s new cement plant in Missouri; and new terminals at Miami Airport and Raleigh Durham Airport in North Carolina.
The spearhead of ADF Group’s development strategy is innovation, where its strength in engineering and its fabrication capacity converge.
In keeping with its tradition and in order to continue standing apart as an industry leader, ADF continually invests in R&D and in new cutting-edge technologies and fabrication equipment, and regularly upgrades its fabrication facilities. In 2008, for instance, ADF was the first company in Canada to introduce new entirely robotized multifunctional machines dedicated, among other things, to the fabrication of highly complex heavy steel components. Built on an 186,000 square-meter (2 million square-foot) lot, ADF’s fabrication plant layout is designed to maximize both effectiveness and production movement, as well as for the pre-assembling work of steel superstructures that require very large working areas. ADF is currently expanding its annual fabrication capacity from 65,000 to 100,000 tons under one roof through the addition of new sophisticated equipment and improvements made to the plant layout exactly to its needs.

No other manufacturer in Canada currently combines under the same roof such fabrication capabilities as ADF’s. The Corporation also benefits from effective synergies created by the combination of an extensive fabrication area, modern fabrication equipment and skilled production staff.
Fabrication processes using the latest technologies enable ADF, among other things, to increase the plant’s global efficiency and efficiently meet its clients’ needs, always according to the industry’s highest standards of quality.
ADF maintains high quality standards and has developed a solid reputation for quality products and services, as well as on-time delivery. The Corporation has obtained a number of certifications, which attest to its commitment to quality, including the Complex Steel Building Structure and Major Steel Bridge-Fracture Critical Endorsement certifications from the American Institute of Steel Construction ("AISC"). ADF is also a member of the most important steel construction associations, has harmonized its quality control practices successfully and has had the ISO 9001 certification since 1999. These certifications allow the Corporation to qualify for practically any structural steel project.
Founded in 1956 by Giacomo (Jacques) Paschini, ADF ("Au Dragon Forgé Inc.") specialized in the production of wrought-iron products, primarily for the residential construction market in Quebec until the early 1980s.
In 1980, the founder passed the control of his company to the next generation of Paschinis. The new management, Jean, Pierre and Marise Paschini refocused its operations on the production of structural steel for the non-residential construction industry in Quebec and Ontario, and developed its expertise in increasingly complex steel structures and architectural metal work.
In the 1990s, the Corporation started extending its presence to the North American and international markets. The Corporation first targeted the Southeastern U.S.A. market where it established a sales office in Florida, in November 1992. Since then, North America has become the main market of the Corporation, which has also carried out several projects abroad, namely in South America, North Africa and the Caribbean.
In 1997, in response to the increasing demand for its products, the Corporation built a new state-of-the-art fabrication plant in Terrebonne. In 2001, in order to keep up with the strong growth in its business and position itself even more solidly for megaprojects, ADF notably completed major capital expenditure program at its Terrebonne fabrication complex where the floor space was doubled to 630,000 square feet and cutting-edge equipment was acquired.
In 2006, ADF Group Inc. celebrated 50 years of existence and honoured its founder Giacomo (Jacques) Paschini who forged ADF day after day. Passionate for his work, a man of integrity and determined to succeed, he built an extraordinary company that made its mark and which still rests today on solid values.
ADF Group Inc. revenues reached $59.5 million in the fiscal year ended January 31, 2008.

Corporate Profile on Stockhouse
Co-Chairman & CEO
Mr. Jean Paschini has over 30 years of experience in the steel industry. Born in 1960, Mr. Jean Paschini is the youngest of the three children of the founder of ADF (Au Dragon Forgé Inc.). Like his brother and sister, he was involved in all aspects of the family business at an early age. Mr. Paschini is a graduate from the Montreal and Aviron Technical Institutes. Mr. Jean Paschini is currently member of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) and American Welding Society (AWS).
Prior to become the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation, Mr. Paschini acted as Vice-President of Operations of ADF. In this function he was responsible for all activities relating to project management, fabrication, directed installation on construction sites in Quebec and Ontario, and managed plant employees. Today, in addition to his other duties as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Paschini is still actively involved in all activities surrounding the fabrication methods, processes and innovation.
In 1999, in order to pursue the development and growth of ADF, the Paschinis have turned this private family business into a publicly traded company. In 1998 and in 2002, the Paschinis successfully closed and integrated two major acquisitions; one in Canada and one in the United States. As part of ADF’s new business strategy and restructuring plan, which included the consolidation of its fabrication activities under one roof, these two acquisitions were divested by 2005. In 2006, the Paschinis who played a pivotal role in the Corporation’s turnaround completed the 3-year strategic restructuring plan designed to place ADF back on the path of profitable growth.
Together with his brother Pierre Paschini, Eng., President and Chief Operating Officer and his sister Marise Paschini, Executive Vice-President, Treasurer and Corporate Secretary, Mr. Jean Paschini successfully manages the development strategy and growth of the Corporation since 1979.
