Corporate Information
Monument Mining Limited (“Monument”) is a well funded Canadian mining and exploration company with two 100% owned prospective gold properties in Malaysia. Monument’s Selinsing Gold Project is at a near production stage and is expected to become cash flow positive with targeted plant commissioning and commencement of production in Q2, 2009. The projected surplus cash will be used to ramp up annual production from the initially targeted 40,000 ounces by twinning the mill to allow increased annual gold production to between 75,000 to 100,000 ounces. The Company also aggressively explores for precious metals and strategically advances its land position in Malaysia to significantly grow its shareholders’ value.
Monument’s head office is in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Monument’s two principal properties — Selinsing Gold Mine Project (“Selinsing”) and Buffalo Reef Prospect (“Buffalo Reef” an exploration project) — are located in the Central Gold Belt District in Malaysia, near two gold mines both having historic, present and future proven and probable gold resources in excess of two million ounces each. Through several recent land acquisitions, the Company also gained as a significant shareholder Avocet Mining PLC, the owner of Penjom mine, one of the above gold mines providing major gold supplies to Malaysia. In June of 2007 Monument acquired a 100% interest in two adjacent mineral properties in the Central Gold Belt on peninsular Malaysia — Selinsing Gold Mine Project and Damar Buffalo Reef Exploration Project. Both properties hold gold resources with opportunity for extension. The Selinsing Gold Mine Project The Selinsing Gold Mine Project contains a resource comprised of an indicated mineral resource of 4.82 million tonnes at 1.49 gpt Au, using a cutoff of 0.59 gpt Au for contained ounces of 231,000 ounces of gold, and an inferred mineral resource of 10.32 million tonnes at a grade of 1.17 gpt Au for contained ounces of 388,000 ounces of gold at a similar cutoff grade. It is a near surface open pitable resource that metallurgical test work indicates will allow gold recovery of between 92% to 95%. The Company is planning to place the project into production in Q2 of 2009 at a rate of 400,000 tonnes per annum using a CIL circuit. A Preliminary Assessment Report was completed by Snowden Mining Industry Consultants and SEDAR filed Dec. 27, 2007. The project is fully funded for engineering, construction and commissioning of Stage I of the Selinsing gold open pit project treatment plant with an upgraded crushing circuit for a future extension of the leach tank farm. The gold production is expected to commence in Q2 of 2009 at a rate of 400,000 tonnes per annum using a CIL circuit. The second mill, a 1.0 M tpy ball mill has been acquired in readiness for the planned Stage II gold treatment plant extension. The Damar Exploration Prospects The Damar prospects are the northern extension along the gold trend from Selinsing that have the potential to provide additional feed for the proposed Selinsing plant within economic cartage distance. The gold resource (historic) of indicated 155,800 ounces and inferred of 29,600 ounces identified to date has encouraged further exploration in the region and the property is presently under an extensive exploration program comprised of 11,000 metres of RC drilling and 1,400 metres of Diamond drilling. Announced drill results from the program thus far indicate that the gold mineralization found on the property is part of a much larger gold camp which stretches from the Selinsing Gold Mine to the north for over a 4.2 kilometre long shear zone; indicating continuity of mineralization and a continuous trend with Selinsing. Three drill rigs are planned to be acquired to extend its exploration programs in fiscal 2009.
