International Nickel Ventures ("INV") is a Canadian mineral resource company focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of base metal projects. INV is focused on making a nickel discovery and advancing it to development. Current projects are located in Brazil and Ontario. INV's primary asset is an interest in two advanced-stage nickel laterite deposits, Santa Fé and Iporá, in the Goiás nickel camp of Brazil. The Santa Fé/Iporá project is a joint venture between INV (20.25%), Teck Cominco Limited, who is the operator (54.75%) and Mineradora Montita Ltda. (25%).
To date 5,303 holes have been drilled totaling 70,762 metres on the two deposits, and on November 23, 2006 INV announced an inferred resource, at a 0.8% nickel cutoff, of 109 million tonnes grading 1.11% nickel based on drill results up to October, 2006. INV is currently updating this resource estimation to include information collected from the drilling activity post-October, 2006.
In addition to the joint venture project in Brazil, INV has acquired three prospective projects in northern Ontario from FNX in exchange for 2.9 million common shares of INV. Two projects, Lansdowne House and Fishtrap, are located adjacent to the James Bay Lowlands area near the McFaulds Lake high grade nickel-copper-precious metals discovery. The third property, Montcalm, is adjacent to Xstrata nickel mine in the Timmins area.
Also in Brazil, INV has two option agreements with BCV over the Damolândia and Niquelândia properties, as well as 100% ownership in an extensive land package, which now totals 480,712 hectares in Goiás, Pará and Tocantins States considered prospective for both lateritic and sulphide nickel deposits. INV is currently focusing on two high-priority areas within this land package, Aguas Claras and Taquaral, and is carrying out exploration activity to identify possible drill targets.
